To celebrate ten years and one day since our opening of the EGCC Stone Course in 2005, we’re holding the Anniversary Tournament by Dell & Max 123.
There are places for 252 players at EGCC 10th birthday tournament on both the Sea and Stone courses. Naturally, players and their partners are also welcome to come to our birthday party in the evening.
We will also have a special guest at our birthday – the world’s best female golf player of all time, Annika Sörenstam, who won 93 pro competitions over her career – 10 of them majors. Annika was also the first woman to play a par 72 golf course in under 60 strokes. In March 2001 she achieved this with a score of 59 strokes at the Phoenix Moon Valley golf course.
On Friday 29th, while all of the club members are playing, Annika is going to be looking around our new plot. By 2019 there will be another top 18-hole course here which will be built under the supervision of Annika Sörenstam and European Golf Design. The schedule for reconstruction shows that the groundbreaking will start at the end of next season, seeding will be in 2017, the course will begin to mature in 2018 and the first playing season on the new golf course will be in 2019.
Guests at the EGCC 10th birthday will include those from the European Tour and European Golf Design and our Sea and Stone architect Lassi-Pekka Tilander. There will also be more than 10 international media organisations present on Thursday to cover Annika’s visit to EGCC.
EGCC Anniversary Tournament by Dell & Max123 competition rules and info can be found here. 152 people have already registered. All 252 places may be soon taken, so please register as soon as possible. Besides the GolfBox registration, please don’t forget to register yourself for the evening birthday party as well.
Our 14th birthday will hopefully be celebrated on both the Sea and Annika’s new course in 2019. Register yourself and let’s get together again on an historic day for Estonian golf.
