On 21 September, we had the great honour of once again welcoming Annika Sörenstam—widely regarded as the greatest female golfer of all time—to Jõelähtme. Together with European Golf Design architect Gary Johnston, AS EGCC Chairman Mait Schmidt, and Head of Course Maintenance Andri Schmidt, Annika toured the under-construction Annika Course in detail.

The purpose of the working visit was to ensure that everything laid out on paper will translate into a course that brings immense joy to players when it opens in 2027. “I know that Estonia is a smaller country and doesn’t have too many golf courses, but I do know that people love golf here. And to be able to create nice experiences for the Estonian Golf & Country Club, I think people will come here to play,” said Annika Sörenstam in an interview with ERR Sport (Estonian Public Broadcasting).
